Côte d'Amour and Côte Sauvage: a coastline of contrasts

The Loire-Atlantique coastline has two fascinating faces: the elegance of the Côte d'Amour and the raw power of the Côte Sauvage.

The Côte d'Amour : The gentle seaside

Stretching from Le Pouliguen to Pornichet, the Côte d'Amour owes its name to the beauty of its bays and the mildness of its climate. It's the kingdom of great fine sandy beaches, bustling marinas and charming villas nestling beneath maritime pines.

La Côte Sauvage: The spectacle of nature

Once past Le Croisic, the landscape changes radically. The Côte Sauvage stretches along 14km of granite cliffs jagged by the ocean. Here, the foam gushes against the rocks and the sea breeze invigorates you. This is a favourite spot for hikers who follow the customs officers' path (GR34) to admire the secret coves and sea caves accessible at low tide.

Le Croisic: Petite Cité de Caractère

In the heart of this wild coastline, the port of Le Croisic is a charming port of call. Stroll along the quays to admire the return of the trawlers, explore the historic alleyways and savour ultra-fresh seafood in one of the many restaurants facing the port.
